Cookies that need your yes
These are set by Google Analytics, and only after you accept analytics. They are first-party cookies: they belong to this site’s address, not to Google’s.
| Name | Kept in | Set by | What it is for | How long | Needs your yes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Cookie | Google Analytics (Google) | A random ID that tells one browser from another, so repeat visits are not counted as new people. | 13 months, renewed each time you visit | Yes |
_ga_ and then letters and numbers | Cookie | Google Analytics (Google) | Remembers the current visit, so the pages you open are counted together. | 13 months, renewed each time you visit | Yes |
The 13 months is a limit we set in our own code. Google’s default is longer. The data collected is kept in Google Analytics for 2 months, a separate setting. See the privacy policy for what is collected.
What the site stores for itself
These are not cookies, and none of them is used for analytics or advertising. They never leave your browser, and they do not need a yes. They are listed so you can see everything.
| Name | Kept in | Set by | What it is for | How long | Needs your yes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
iw-consent | Browser storage (localStorage) | This site | Remembers your answer about analytics, so we do not ask again. It holds only the version of the question, yes or no, and the date. It is never sent anywhere. | Until you clear it. We ask again if the question changes. | No |
fig-tools | Browser storage (IndexedDB) | This site | Keeps the invoice you are working on, so it is there next time. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. | Until you choose “Start over” or clear it | No |
fig-pc-off | Browser storage (localStorage) | This site | Remembers that you chose “Stop sharing” on Check your price. | Until you clear it | No |
Checklist ticks | Browser storage (localStorage) | This site | Remembers which boxes you ticked on a trade page checklist. | Until you clear it | No |
fig- and then letters and numbers | Browser storage (offline copy) | This site | The site’s own pages, scripts and fonts, saved so the tool opens without a connection. | Until the site is updated or you clear it | No |
What is not a cookie
We also keep a simple count of visits and downloads with our own counter. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, and it keeps no IP address and no ID. It does not run if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. The same signal keeps Google Analytics off, whatever you click.
The site is served by Cloudflare. When we checked on Nov 05 2026, it set no cookie on these pages. If that changes, this page changes.
Changing your mind
Turn analytics off in cookie settings. The site stops counting, removes the Google Analytics cookies from this browser, and reloads the page. This does not delete counts Google Analytics already holds. They are kept for 2 months. To ask us about them, write to [email protected].
Your choice is kept per website. freeinvoicegenerator.tools and invoicewren.com cannot read each other’s storage, so you choose on each one.
You can also block cookies in your browser’s settings. The tool still works.
